Jane Bernhard, MBA

Biography

Jane Bernhard is the Communications Director of the NSF-Simons AI Institute for Cosmic Origins (CosmicAI). She is an former actor turned Columbia MBA graduate, and she is the host of the podcast "Your Career, Unscripted," where she interviews business leaders and rising professionals on their career paths. She shares stories and advice to inspire young professionals to build a career on their terms, and not anyone else's. She has interviewed hundreds of CEOs and executives over the last few years, including the former Chairman and former CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the former CEO of PlayStation, and the CEO and Founder of The Female Quotient.

Jane has written about insights from these interviews for CNN Opinion, Poets & Quants, as well as her personal Substack.

Jane spent her early career as an actor on HBO, Discovery, Oxygen, and various theaters across the country before pivoting to tech and business. She has been searching for a role that values her creativity, interpersonal skills, strengths in networking, and experience in marketing and content creation, as well as her knowledge of business and tech. Being able to work at a university and be valued for her creativity and communication skills means the world to her, and she is thrilled to dive into the world of astronomy and AI with much humility, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
